I work within the painting medium, exploring concepts around human interaction within the landscape. Incorporating historical and current imagery into my work I convey the rich history of human settlement up and down the coast.
My impressions are formed by layering and washing away paint applications, developing the landscape in a way which reflects its emotional and physical history. My hope is that my paintings are able to give the viewer an experience of the changing landscape and to capture moments which are now gone. Using repetition, juxtaposition, and the layering of imagery within my work I bring attention to these changes.
