The Malaspina Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) has been providing life and property protection to our southern region since our founding in 1967. The department was first funded by money raised through the Ladies Auxillary bake sales. In the mid-70’s it became part of the Powell River Regional District. We now have 22 members that provide 24/7 fire fighting, first responder and auto-extrication services.
